Overview
The fields of anatomy and developmental biology are closely linked.
Knowledge of anatomy is important in many areas of biology and medicine, including developmental biology.
Similarly, developmental biology tells us much about how normal anatomy is formed and maintained.
Understanding the anatomy and development of tissues and organs is essential to the emerging area of tissue repair.
In Years 1 and 2 of your BSc (Hons) degree, you will complete a broad programme of study in biomedical sciences. This structure is shared by all our undergraduate Biomedical Sciences degree programmes.
We introduce you to Anatomy and Development in your Year 1 and 2 compulsory courses.
Specialisation in Anatomy and Development will begin in Year 3. In your final year, you will focus on these disciplines.
