Learn the language spoken by a quarter of the world's population in Western Europe's most linguistically diverse city. Take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of China with a language course that can be tailored to your needs. Study abroad for a year at one of our partner universities in China, Taiwan or Hong Kong. Study at a university ranked sixth in the UK for Modern Languages (QS World University Rankings by subject 2024). This programme is designed for students whose level of Mandarin Chinese at entry ranges from complete beginner to approximately A Level Standard. It is not suitable for students whose first language is Chinese.
