In your final year, you will have the opportunity to undertake a six-month placement in industry or at an overseas research institution, university or company. Accredited by the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Some employers recruit preferentially from accredited degrees. An accredited degree is also likely to be recognised by other countries that are signatories to international accords.
